THE MYSTERIOUS
CELTS As a young student in Wales I
found that I preferred to read history and later devoured as much as I could
read on Mortimer Wheeler, Glyn Daniel, Leonard Woolley and other
archaeologists. My enthusiasm for archaeology led me to explore an Iron Age
settlement at Dinas Powys near Penarth in South Wales.The local newspaper
printed my account of the site. Some years later I took “Prehistory and early
agriculture” at the University of Manchester.This book explores the enigma of
the Celts.The interaction between the Celtic-Gallic and their neighbours in
western Europe. Also included is an overview of early Ogham(Ogam)writing
,archaeological findings and the presence of Celtic peoples and their culture
discovered in Europe and in North America and Myth. |
